  • One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer

One is the loneliest number. I knew some of the usual group was off running a completely stupid and utterly pointless race, so I was expecting a smaller than usual showing. But just me, who was I going to grumble to? At 5:15, I was pondering that idea. It was lonely, but then a pair on headlights came up the ramp. BBQ joined me at the A1C for this morning’s beatdown. I didn’t have to do it alone.

    Warm-ups: All IC to 10

Windmills, Good mornings, Torso Twists, Cherry Pickers, Toe Touches

The Thang: We moseyed over to Stone Hedge. Each of us picked up a cinder block. 42 Curls for the girls. Followed by Colt 45’s. 24 down and halfway up, followed by 24 halfway to up. Then 15 slow count WaterPick squats, 42 shoulder presses, 15 slow squats, 24 kettlebell swings, 15 slow squats. Moseyed back to the A1C for a mini dora. 100 mericans, 200 squats, 300 lbcs. Partner 1 held plank while partner 2 did 10 pushups. Then partner 1 performed what BBQ coined an Al Gore meets George Thorogood while parter 2 did 20 squats. (An Al Gore while doing alternating calf raises). Did I mention I was blasting classic rock during the beatdown, and one bourbon, one scotch, one beer was blasting during this section? Then lbcs while the other partner held 6 inches. We finished with plank rock paper scissors. Loser did 1 burpee, winner 1 push-up. Round 2, winner 2 push-ups, loser 2 burpees. Due to BBQ being a professional rock, paper, scissor champion, I did alot of burpees this morning.

Small COT, prayers to those in the path of the hurricane, our foolish f3 brothers running the coast, Goose and his family.

And then the joke of the day from BBQ

A guy walks into a bar, bartender askes “What will you have today”

The guys asks for a corona and two hurricanes. The bartender respondes ” That will be $20.20.

  • The Thunder Rolls….

After doing Cowbells crazy 5 sec rest ISI in the parking garage, Q noticed the storm rolling in. The rain wasn’t my concern, however, the amazing display of lightning was. A small modification was needed.

Warm-up: Toe touches, torso twists, Bushwackers T motion, and something else I cannot remember.

The thang: We moved from the top of the garage to the second floor (remember the lightning). It was time for 4 corners. 4 rounds: 7 burpees, 14 merkins, 21 squats, 28 lbcs. After each round, down the stairs, around the corner, and run back up to the second level. After the four rounds, down the staircase. 10 calve raises each step to the top. At the top, Hammer tried Cowbell’s plank with feet high up on the wall and try to put your shirt back on. Cowbell then demonstrated with the Q following. Everyone else Al Gored while watching the foolishness. 5 minutes left, round robin mary. 20 leg lifts IC, 30 american hammers, flutter kicks, then hold a plank to Queen’s We will rock you. Thank you to cowbell for showing me plank paper, rock, scissors. Will use it soon. COT with Hammer praying us out. Thank y’all for allowing me to lead such a great group of men that I am lucky to call my brothers. I love y’all, and will see you in the Gloom soon.

    Jose 10k signing off.

  • Burpee Ball

Warm ups: ssh, toe touches, arm circles, cherry pickers, self love

The thang: lt. Steve the length of the parking garage. Lazy Dora afterwards, 100 Mericans, 200 squats, 300 lbcs.

Then I opened my trunk of beach balls. In groups of two, we began burpee ball. At first the rules were after teammate one hit the ball, do a burpee while teammate two hit it back. This proved a bit too difficult. Grundy modified the rules which worked out better. Teammate two was allowed two hits while teammate 1 did the burpee. Once the ball hit the ground, both did 20 copperhead squats. Modification 2 from Grundy, the whole group circled up with one ball and whoever hit it up, they did the burpee. It’ll get your heart rate up for sure gentleman. COt, pik prayed us out . Happy 8th birthday and first communion to his daughter. Thanks for letting me lead guys

  • F3 brings out the best in me

Bushwacker said “if you build it, they will come”. I needed an ao during the week that I could attend once work started again. So with the guidance of my F3 brothers, a Friday beat down was born. It had a theme, F3 brings out the best in me, I’m bringing out some of the best F3. Okay the thang:

10 side straddle hops ic, had to stop and laugh when Tanked up commented on my flowing locks…asked about my conditioning products and techniques…

    10 toe touches ic

    10 cherry pickers ic

10 torso twists, 10 self love ( brought to you for ackbar)

    5 burpees on your own

Mosey to the school board building with shooter by my side up in front. I started reminiscing of all my runs where he always came back for me, never have I finished a run alone. Like I said, F3 brings the best out of us.

Merican circle, 3 rounds of regular Mexicans, followed by 2 rounds of clap pushups (inspired by cowbell) followed by 2 rounds of one armed pushups (inspired by Zoolander).

Mosey to the courthouse for some Dora (inspired by TurboTax) 100 merican, 200 squats, 300 lbcs. Partner 1 climbed the handrails up the courthouse, while partner 2 did the exercise.

Mosey back to the top of the garage for one round of monkey lunges.

    Then 4 corners, 7 burpees, 14 merkins, 21 leg lifts, 28 squats

    Cot, shooter prayed us out

Then we named the new ao: the a1c

It’s an honor to lead this morning, getting out of my comfort zone. Thank you my brothers for the support. I love you guys. SYITG

  • Band camps vq!

It was a hot and humid morning. The sun began to rise, and the smell of greatness filled the air ( maybe it was the garbage truck that was passing by). A 13 year old stepped out of the car, nervous, but ready to lead. He started off with side straddle hops ic, confidence in his counting. Arm circles, air presses, windmills followed. Again, confidence could be heard in his voice. We moseyed to Noah’s ark for some Dora. 100 merits, 200 squats, 300 lbcs while partner 2 ran the ark. Little did we know that this sick little man was just warming up. We then lined up on the wall for 11s. Freaknastys folllowed by a lunge walk to the street, then burpees followed by bear crawls back to the wall. Shooter, Jose, and Russo were sweating buckets from this beat down. (However, they would sweat that much just sitting there fishing, but that’s besides the point) The young lad smiled as we were gasping for air, grunting in displeasure. He was happy, but realized quickly that there was time left, and he had finished his list. We moseyed back to the flag, and got a series of on the spot exercises. No rhyme or reason to them. The young man was tired, but relieved the workout was over. He led a group of men who’s average age was 3 times his own. That is F3! COT, and prayers after,
