  • “Keep Your Hands to Yourself” – from Einstein

That’s not a F3 directive, just a song title by Georgia Satellites.

And we all know how Jose likes to have his music playing, and this song comes on – before you know it – Jose and Fletch are performing a duet, fingers wagging and all. I must say; it was pretty impressive. If only BBQ had shown up I’m sure he would have joined in with his air guitar.

The A1c started off weird with Moby coming in hot (usually he’s the first one to arrive), claiming his f* dog would not get into the f* truck, that little m*f*er.

Then Jose tells Moby that Steve will be the Q next Friday, and more f*,f*,f*…
We’ll cut Moby some slack – he was dehydrated.

So on with the warmup – numerous exercises interspersed with BBQ-like observation of the surrounding natural beauty – sunrise, clouds, birds, dog turd piles, etc.

Then on to the main event – the lazy man’s que – Deck of Doom. Each pax choosing a card and calling out the exercise of their choice. I squeezed in my least favorites: crab crawl, smurf jacks, and monkey humpers. all-in-all it was a sweatfest as we went into overtime to finish the deck.

    DarkWingDuck prayed us out.

Moby brought watermelon for us all. It hit the spot

  • Light Fun after the 4th – from Jose10k

Let’s keep it simple. To be honest, the day after the 4th celebrations, I wasn’t expecting anyone to show up at the A1C this early morning. Humid, hot, most people on a nice 4 day weekend. YHC showed up early to put in his 100 burpees for the July Spartan challenge, and continue to do a slow mosey to stretch out these sore muscles. At 5 o’clock, my partner in crime showed up: Moby. We upped the pace around the parking garage, waiting for any other HIMs to show up. It looked like just Batman and Robin again, we planned a great, simple beatdown for the two of us. We began to hit the stairs, when an unfamiliar car pulled up. Oh shit, it was Hogsbreathe. No simple beatdown anymore. He was 10 minutes late because he was dropping a Biden in his toilet.
The thang: calf raises on the stairs, Moby’s 4 count SSH at the bottom, calf raises back up on top, then back down to the second floor. This is where we discovered an airconditioned hallway. WTF, where has this been? We proceeded to stay inside for 15 minutes for bear crawls and core exercises (round robin style). Back to the ramps for Lt. Dan’s up, the back peddle up the other incline. Back to the flag for some toys that I had in the trunk, coupons. We proceeded to do kettle bell swings, curls for the girls, rows for the ho**, shoulder presses, and chest presses to finish off. Hogsbreathe is doing great at his new job, his M has a new motorcycle for them to cruise the streets of Slidell. Moby has the cure for any high fevers, Turbo Dog left his usual gifts to the parking garage, and I am just grateful to share my mornings with these great brothers of mine. COT and Hogsbreathe prayed us out with intentions for Moby’s niece and their family. Tomorrow, Hammer has the Q.
SYITG gentlemen, thanks for reading and thanks for posting.

  • 4 Corners Core – from Einstein

Warm and humid today – but it’s always a couple degrees cooler atop the Justice Center Parking Garage.

Warmup: toe touch, arm circles, snap crackle pops, hi jack hi jills, side straddle hops, vertical penguins, grass grabbers, imaginary jump rope, scissors, etc.

Thang: core exercises at each of the four corners of the parking deck, with running, bear crawling, lunging etc. to each corner.

Plenty of chatter today, with Jose10k and Moby sparring as usual, and BBQ kept us entertained with his nature boy observations. It was a splendid sunrise, with a brilliant three quarter waning moon to the West. Fletch spotted a cumulonimbus cloud.

DarkWingDuck prayed us out, with intentions abound.

  • Dice Games at the A1C – from Shooter

Warm-ups followed by a lap down to the bottow and back up to the top. Then it was time to bust out the Dice built by Whacker. One die had a number, the other die had the exercises. Each person rolled the exercise die once the number die was rolled. First round number: 25. The exercises were burpees, 8 count body builders, and wife pleasers.
The second number: 20. The exercises: merkins, jump squats, leg lifts. The final number: 10. The exercises: burpees, right elbow left knee, left elbow right knee, and tbh I forgot the 3 exercise. Then it was a recovery walk to the end of the parking lot with a 35 pound weight, jump rope, and a core exercise. 1 minute at each station. The 35 pound weight was rifle carried (shoulder press to intesify), squat thrusters for round 2, and curls for girls for round 3. COT and Darkwing prayed us out.

  • A half of a bottle of Caribbean Hot Sauce for two scrambled eggs? – from Fletch

As for the norm, I showed up and there was Jose and Moby doing their normal prethang together. Fast pace walk with good conversation. I jumped in to join in the rant a little. Einstein joined then came Darkwing.
Warm-ups: of course, we’re old, we need extra stretches to get the body going.
First thing: 11’s on the ramp. Merkins on the top, squats on the bottom. Vary how you go up and down the ramp. About halfway through, Jose needed a break. He almost splashed merlot. That’s when we heard about his dinner last night. On his journey to lose weight for the Beast, he decided to eat a healthy dinner of 2 scrambled eggs. He took out his Caribbean hot sauce, opened the top, turn it over to splash a little of hot sauce, he accidentally poured half the hot sauce onto his eggs. A normal, intelligent man would have simply made two new eggs. Did Jose do that? Nope, the goofball didn’t want to waste the foreign hot sauce. After dinner, he proceeded to have a night filled with Tums and Pepto.
After the 11’s, bear crawls came next. 1/3 of the parking lot, normal bear crawls, 1/3 crawl to the left, 1/3 crawl to the right the length of the parking lot. Then it was time for core: leg lifts, big boys, penguins, box cutters, wife pleasers. Then to the stairs, 2 calf raises each step to the bottom, 20 merkins, run across the parking lot, back to the stairs for 2 calf raises back up. COT, prayers for the poor girl who lost her mother and younger sister yesterday, and for Bird’s family

  • TIL YOU cant no more – from Mobydick

Every time I Q I am concerned this 74 yo isn’t going to give the pax their money’s worth. Having been routinely beat down to MY limit by you young punks. So I came up with a plan. After a rather routine warm up of SSH Arm circles toe touches torso twists scissors hops butt kicks etc etc I laid out a simple plan. Each pax was to do each exercise to his limit. Til YOU can’t do any more. That was a short list. Freak Nasty Squats Leg Lifts Merkins. All done slow and complete without concern for count just til there wasn’t any thing left. In between each set of those was a lap. The thang went to 3 sets of limits each a little shorter than the last. Closed out with stretches COT and a prayer of gratitude for the strength we each found with in ourselves.

  • MotherF**ker Jones – from Jose10k

Let’s see, 77 degrees outside with a nice breeze that broke up the humidity. 4 HIMs took the red pill this morning. The keys to the bus were available and YHC picked them up. After running at the Scramble yesterday, I honestly had no clue what to do. I decided to utilize the outside of the A1C this morning. After a series of warm-ups, we moseyed to the outside of the parking garage where there are concrete seats. We did a series of exercises, followed by a lap around the entire parking garage. We did bulgarian split squats, regular squats, wife pleasers, another core exercise, freak nasties, and derkins. We successfully completed 3 rounds of that. We then did Lt. Dan up the parking garage, moseyed the straight away, then Lt. Dan up the next level to the top. We circled up to finish up with some deep stretches to a count to 10 in a different foreign language including German, French, Spanish, Pig Latin, Roman numerals, and binary.
COT: Moby prayed us out. Reminder: Mother’s Day is this weekend. And our own DarkWing Duck will celebrate his 18th wedding anniversary on Sunday as well. TCLAPS to him and his M.
Double Q tomorrow from Steve and Bushwacker. I even EHd JV to do the prethang tomorrow.

Spartan Beast Race in October, see Hammer for the information. Join the group of crazy men who are already doing some insane workouts to prepare for this event.
Thank y’all for letting me lead, and thanks for reading this bb.
Oh Shooter, I noticed no Mandevillians posted today 🙁

  • Train for the BEAST like a BEAST – from Jose10k

I will begin this backblast with the weather, much like our local “Ron Burgundy” does for the splash pad each backblast that he writes. It was 73 degrees outside, humid, and cloudy…”And the air was just right for drinking…”Bonus points for anyone who can tell me which 80s classic movie that line was from. Anywho, after doing a few laps prethang with the Robin to my Batman, we got to it:
A series of exercises to get the blood flowing, when a late arrival by Fletch, we were ready to get started.
A bunch of us signed up for the Spartan Beast Race in October. It’s a half a marathon with 30 obstacles. If you cannot complete an obstacle, the penalty is 30 burpees. I’m not having complete faith in myself, so let’s practice some burpees. In the Center of the parking garage, the PAX did 10 burpees, 20 squats, followed by a core exercise until the lucky runner returned. The lucky runner ran down the stairs to the bottom floor, ran across the garage, and back up the stairs on the opposite side. 6 rounds of this, the 4 corners. 5 burpees at each corner, lunge walk between 4 corners of the garage. 2 rounds of this. A total of 100 burpees, which I am sure Moby’s chiropractor isn’t happy with him. COT, and DarkWing prayed us out with special intentions of all the graduates. Thanks for reading, and thanks for letting me lead today. SYITG

  • Stations of The Cross Fit – from Einstein

Strong warmup featuring many fan favorites.
The event: set up 4 stations with gear:
    1 – jump ropes
    2 – 35 pound kettle bell
    3 – 24 pound kettle bell
    4 – 1 set of 15 pound dumbbells
One pax sprints down the parking deck and then jogs back around.
While one is running, the remaining pax each pick a station and; jump rope, squat press the 35 pounder, one arm press the 24 pounder, or lunge in place with the 15 pounders.
then the next guy runs and each pax rotates a station
We each did five or six run/rotations, and all worked up a good sweat.
Moby sprinted his last run – impressive!
    DarkWingDuck prayed us out.
