The Lost Boys / Hold my Banana – from Triple Shift

I haven’t been to Okwata in over 6 months or maybe a year. I can’t remember that far back. Needless to say, I have no excuses because this AO is the closest to my house (5 minutes away). Although I’ve been nursing a left Achilles injury since July 25 and had meniscus surgery on my right knee in Oct 25, I get a crazy idea to go to Okwata when the temperature was 34 degrees. What was I thinking?
I arrive at 5:28 pm and see a few dark, shadowy figures huddling around a virtual flag and I know I am in the right place. I said, “Who’s the Q?” A response from Whistle Pig that Kenner Brah was the Q but he’s not there. It’s 5:30 am and there is some grumbling going on and a phone call was made to Kenner Brah but no answer. It’s 5:33 am, I’m listening for someone to take charge but just looks of “Not It” abound. ENOUGH! I’m the Q, I give a disclaimer and we’re off to warm up next to the seawall across the street.

WARMARAMA – 15 Imperial Walkers, 10 slow merkins, 10 LSS, 10 Tie Fighters (forward and backward), 10 slow Shoulder Taps, and 10 slow Peter Parkers all done IC.

THE THANG 1 – 11’s with Burpees and Box Cutters with a monster walk (15 yards) as the mode of transportation. Great for the Glutes!

THE THANG 2 – Head to the House of Pain for Flexed Arm Hang. This is where Fracsac pulls some cultural movie reference from the recesses of his mind to the Lost Boys and a train bridge. I give him a puzzled look and move on. 10 seconds on with 20 seconds off. As one group rotated off, I gave instructions to perform static holds of banana (snickers and chuckles abounded), squat and planks.

Head back to the virtual flag for 3 minutes of stretching.

Count off, Namarama, and COT – Announcements for RCR and closed out with prayers for the caregivers of parents (and in-laws). I prayed for courage, compassion, grace and humility to lead our families well.
