Pi Day – from Jose10k

On this fine morning, March 14th (3/14), also known as Pi Day, the message went out from Zoolander with the recommendation—maybe the invitation, maybe the suggestion, or maybe just a straight-up voluntelling—that Russo or YHC should pick up the Q. Being the math teacher that I am, I figured why not lean into the theme. After all, how often do you get to combine math, sweat, and grown men doing burpees at stop signs?

After a quick warm-up, the Pax moseyed over to Noah’s Ark to begin the Pi-themed adventure. Since π is 3.1415, every stop sign meant the same pain: 3 burpees, 14 diamond merkins, and 15 jump squats. But before we moseyed to the next stop sign, the Pax had to answer a trivia question. Questions ranged from rational vs. irrational numbers, the fraction approximation of π, the degrees in half a circle, the area of a circle, and the difference between a radius and a diameter. Somewhere along the way, the Pax realized this might have secretly turned into an early morning math class.

Twelve stop signs later, plenty of sweat had been produced and several math facts had been either confirmed or wildly guessed. The group moseyed back to the flag for the final COT, where a few more trivia questions were tossed out just to keep everyone on their toes.

All in all, it was a solid Pi Day beatdown: a little math, a lot of movement, and just enough trivia to make everyone question whether they accidentally signed up for summer school.

Thanks to the Pax for the opportunity to lead. Thanks to Zoolander for the extra push to pick up the Q.
