Keep it simple stupid!. – from Jose10k

A crisp humidity was hanging over the Mandeville lakefront this morning, a stark reminder that summer is officially drawing to a close and the school year is hitting us full force today. As a teacher stepping back into the classroom this morning, my head was spinning with lesson plans and seating charts, making the pre-dawn routine an absolute necessity to clear the mind. We kept the warmup dead simple to shake off the rust, then immediately took off toward the water. The routine was straightforward but brutal: every time we crossed a stop sign on the way to the lakefront, we dropped for 10 merkins and knocked out 15 squats. Once we hit the Rips shoreline, we used the steps to burn out the legs with 3 calf raises on every single step, before turning around to rinse and repeat the whole sequence on the return leg. Gathering around for the Circle of Trust as the sun started to peak over the horizon felt a bit heavier than usual today. We lifted up intentional prayers for all the kids, parents, and fellow teachers who are transitioning back into the school routine this week, asking for patience, safety, and a smooth start to the semester. Jose10k out.
