  • 2 Weeks is 2 Long! – from Bolt

    YHC had been under the weather and traveling, leading to too many fartsacks and too many excuses. Having had enough the call was made for HCs to Waning Wednesday at The Goldmine. Boo-boo was first to answer with a choice offered: The Goldmine or Pontiff and YHC texted with Pontiff…in the event he fartsacked so as not to leave Boo-boo solo. Space Cowboy HC’d which meant The Goldmine would prevail for both pax previously destined for Pontiff!
    Having started this whole thing, YHC prepped to Q—speaker and Frac’s favorite song in hand. Disclaimer and off to the warmup pad for LSS, Abe SLOWgodas, Tie Fighter R/L, SSH, Shoulder taps, PP/PP, OH claps.

    Mosey to JPAX via shuffle each direction, karaoke each direction, KnOT walk, Mosey, switching at each light pole.

    The Thang: KISS—ascending ladder BLIMPS (Burpees, Lunges, Imperial Walkers, Merkins, Plank Jacks, Squats) with 10 step ups 2:1 after each letter:
    5 Burpees, step ups
    Add a letter and 5 reps to the count
    5 Burpees, 10 Lunges, step ups…
    …all the way to 30 Squats
    YHC had to pause several times for HR to drop below 160 before resuming as Space Cowboy lapped us, per usual.

    Mosey back to warmup pad for Mary, pax choice: LBCx30, Dying cockroachesx30, Protractor Penguins (this one sucked and WILL return)x5 at 15/90/45/15/45. Switch to AMRAP of pax choice while 30 sec. dead hang is timer: plank, xfactors, and close out time with high plank. COT

  • Stretch, Run, and Whatever KB was Gettin’ Done – from Bolt

    YHC got a HC from Pillsbury the night before, making him a Kotter and thus, there was no backing out of the gloom this rainy morning. The S&M crew found the marathon preppers fast at work well before the disclaimer as we made our way to the pavilion with a guest appearance by KnOTS’ own Scantron. KB brought toys and flailed about as the S&M crew did their thing.
    We reassembled in the rain for COT; honored as always.

  • Veteran’s Day: 11/11 Must be 11s – from Bolt

    YHC fartsacked more than acceptable last week so seeing an empty Q sheet meant only one option—Q. The inscribed bat signal illuminated Slack and 4 pax headed the call, including a hobbled KB and a less and less rare Rev Sox return. Potable phone charger in hand at 5:29:57 and flag planted for the 5:30 disclaimer and mosey to warmup pad for Abe SLOWgodas, after which Charmin noted something was noticeably missing while silence was noticeably present—had enough of the 2.1a port fed the electronic overlord? “YES” was the answer—so JBL jumped to life with the requisite song to get us through the balance of the warmorama:

  • Good to see people – from Charmin

    As usual, YHC arrived to find the runners there early and even a few KnOTters. By the time 5:30 arrived, Boo-Boo was there to ruck, in addition to bringing news that Bolt would be arriving shortly.

    After going around the track and finding all the gates locked, we met with Bolt on the track and realized that our neighborhood time would need to be brief.

    On YHC’s way back, we saw a Rougarou leaving saying that he’s finally had it with walking backwards. “Why can we walk forwards, and get to our stretching spot quicker?” he muttered under his breath before crossing over the train tracks.

    COT ended with praying for all those struggling physically, but more importantly mentally. Don’t hesitate on reaching out to fellow Pax.

  • Monday BLIMP Ladder – from Bolt

    Space Cowboy had to call out in IR in Slack which prompted a call for HCs and with that, YHC’s fate was sealed…plates the flag and as 530 struck, the disclaimer was given to the four other pax who showed. Off to the warmup pad for Abe SLOWgodas, R/L Tie Fighters, OH and Seal claps finished with self love before PP/PP, LSS, and MMPGM since the chaos monkey was here. Finish with Morning Calls before heading to JPAX for BLIMP ladder with a crab walk circuit around the two concrete benches before starting the next round, adding a letter/exercise and five reps:

    20 Merkins
    25 Plank Jacks

    man is the timer who runs backward to the can while everyone does their exercise. Rotate , 2 rounds.
    Mosey to the JPAC for a round of 11’s: step ups, run up the stairs, monkey humpers then down the ramp.

  • Saints Hangover!? – from Bolt

    YHC saw no Q on the sheet Th night and was concerned I might fartsack or might show to an empty Pontiff…either way, only one of the choices is filled with self loathing so posting it shall be. Rolling up at 5:28 I noticed a few shadows and was pleased at winning the battle of 15 degrees. Frac offered me the Q when I threatened to grab the speaker knowing there was not time to go get it; Frac was pleased at winning the battle of JBL. Warmorama of Abe SLOWgoda, MMPGM, Tie Fighters L/R, OHC, SC, MNC. self love.

    Off to play area for Morning Calls then off to the rock pile for a medium rock and when u convert with an Android medium must mean large since Triple went big.

    Head to pavilion for 3 exercises of 20/15/10 reps doing: man makers (Triple wanted 50), squats (keep weight either through heels or balls of feet), tricep press. Rinse and repeat (Frac was psyched) except shift weight to opposite half of foot from previous round. Discussion about natural imbalance and demo from Frac with pistol squats followed by flamingo stance balance work and finished with 5 pistol squats per leg.

    Return rocks with rifle carry, KnOT walk, curls for the girls and off to flag for one minute plank followed by COT. Honored to lead.

  • 11s + 1 Burpee buy-in – from Bolt

    YHC wanted to avoid another fartsack and put out the call in Slack for HCs in exchange for the Q—2 pax heeded the evening call AND actually showed up in the gloom!

    Glorious breeze that caused a flag repositioning after warmorama on the pad.

    Warmorama serenaded by the requisite Rapper’s Delight: Abe SLOWgodas, IW, LSS, SSH, Tie Fighters L/R, OHC, Seal claps, self love all IC (reps of 10-20)

    The Thang:
    Mosey to JPAX for 11s with a 1 burpee buy-in/round consisting of 10 dry docks at bottom with a mosey up the steps for 1 tricep dip on the benches, returning via bear crawl down the ramp for each additional round’s burpee buy-in.

    Lunge/KnOT/mosey back to flag with stops at two benches for (10) 8-count R/LLSU and 10 derkins followed by 6 MOM: 30 LBCs, 20 Freddy Mercs, 20 American Hammers, Protractors, 20 flutter kicks, wife pleaser plank. COT, honored to lead.

  • Posting for others – from Charmin

    YHC was planning on posting this morning as a rucker and being the only rucker there. It soon became apparent that there would be a 3 ruckers in total, along with 3 runners and 1 S&M on a park bench. That being said, having conversation definitely made the 45 minutes in the gloom pass by faster vs. whatever was up next in my podcast feed.
