  • If it hadn’t been for Cotton-Eye Joe I’d been married long time ago Where did you come from, where did you go? Where did you come from, Cotton-Eye Joe? – from Jose10k

6 crazy HIM braved the cold weather this morning to join for a wacky 90s inspired musical. I reached out to the Mandvillians, and they didn’t disappoint. We even were blessed by a wonderer from Slidell. Warm-ups: SSH, self love, grass grabbers, cherry pickers, torso twists, hello jacks hello jills, and high knees all IC TEN count.

The thang: First song: Cotton Eye Joe as promised. A very Hammer inspired workout to this song. SSH during the song while doing a burpee every time Cotton Eye Joe was mentioned. After that was done, switched the music to a little classic rock, to do a little modified dora. Partner 1 back pedaled halfway across the parking garage, the ran the rest to the other side. Back pedaled half way again, then ran back to the starting point. Then partner two did the same. Each partner had to complete 100 crunches and 200 squats. They got to tag team to do 300 merkins. We circled up to do 10 minutes of Mary, round robin style. Each person called out their own exercise. The music included Aqua’s “Barbie girl”, Haddaway’s “What is Love”. A great selection of 90s classic music. COT and Hammer led us out in prayer. Thank y’all for letting me lead on this chilly morning. I am better because of my brothers. SYITG

  • THE CARD GAME CONTINUES AT THE A1C – from Einstein

The fog was so thick this morning, BBQ’s wife wouldn’t let him leave the house.
Which is too bad, as he would have excelled at the river dance routine that we performed

    Warmup:
all 15xIC: Toe Touch, Side Straddle Hops, Shoulder Rolls, Snap-Crackle-Pops(aka neck rolls), Imperial Walkers, Hillbillys, etc

    Thang:
With Deck of Cards, each pax is assigned their suit: Moby-spades, Jose10K-clubs, Invisible Man-hearts, Einstein-diamond
    And with a few rules;
#1, one at a time, each pax draws a card, the owner of that suit calls out an exercise of their choice and we do that number on the card
#2, you can’t lay on the ground like a lazy f@t b*st#rd after being on your six, you had to get up for each card pulled
#3, if the same suit gets pulled in consecutive order, the face amount doubles, triples, etc

Joker #1 – back-peddle around the upper deck
Joker #2 – mosey down the stairs and two calf raises per step up the stairs

    Count-o-rama

Jose-10K led us out with a prayer

  • Young at Heart – from TurboTax

With a combined age approaching 300, 5 young at heart PAX kick started their Wednesday with a tough one at The Gipper. A warm up of imperial walkers, shoulder taps, side straddle hops, Peter Parkers, seal jacks, Parker Peters, merkins and toe touches got the blood flowing for our mosey to the Justice Center.

It wasn’t the same without Steve, but somehow we managed a nice set of Bulgarian split squats combining isometric holds, dynamic movements and then plyometrics. Rinse and repeat but this time with incline merkins.

Lunge walk and bear crawl to the stairs for some Wile E Coyote.

Recovery walk to the mailboxes then some Mary: Scuba Steve’s, Nolan Ryan’s, flutter kicks, Superman’s, hello Dolly’s and jackknives.

Run with burpees at every light to the flag where we circled up for curtesy squats, single leg RDLs and good mornings.

Back to the stairs for a few rounds up and around and then a nice long walk sit.

Mosey to the shovel flag for a final exercise-a back plank.

Countorama, nameorama and Einstein prayed us out. Thanks for letting me lead guys. SYITG.

  • The Future’s So Bright: I gotta wear shades – from Jose10k

3 Brave souls braved the cool morning air to gather at the top of the parking garage. Moby and myself were engaged in mild conversation when loud music came blaring up the ramp. It was none other than BBQ, rocking an old classic. Fifty thou a year’ll buy a lot of beer
Things are going great, and they’re only getting better
I’m doing alright, getting good grades
The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades
    I gotta wear shades.
The beatdown was simple: Tabata: Round Robin Style. 45 seconds of an exercise of that person choice, 15 seconds break.
COT, Moby prayed us out. Short, sweet, and to the point gentlemen

  • Up and down with the deck of cards – from BBQ

A strong 5 arrived. Multiple and usual warm ups. Of course I botched the count on a couple. A warm up lap around the top deck. The deck of cards came out. Each suit had an exercise and each card represented the # of exercises, 2 thru 14. The 4 exercises were hand release merkins, copperhead squats, gas pumps and LBC’s. LBC’s were double the card. After each rep we directly stood up from sitting on the pavement to standing up. Using no hands. Or at least we tried. It took some warm up. I do not recall the name of this type of stand up squat. I did them at beat down in St Louis. The one joker was a one star jump every third line across the top deck parking spots. We finished the deck of cards. Nameorama and prayed out. Another great start of the day at the A1C!

  • Recovering mosey and FLORA!! – from Shooter

With our first cold front upon us, YHC looked to the Exicon for a partner containing coupon routine and FLORA showed herself.. After some chatter under the breezeway with Moby, Fletch and Einstien about Hot Springs AR. and the Diamond 💎 explores toward our north…BBQ comes in hot crunching gravel and exiting his vehicle to confirm our last arrival of the gloom.. We started in with an extended warmup of 20IC Seal jacks, Toe Touches, Imperial walkers, Hillbillies, Butt kicks, Cherry Pickers and Grass Grabbers. We Moseyed around the trailhead toward the courthouse and back around Lola’s with fresh smell 👃🏻 of breakfast in the air.. Upon return we selected our coupons from behind the container and after splitting into 2 groups we commenced to starting in on FLORA.. Completed 100,200,300
with recovery Mosey in between each… The Goblet squat and hold proved most difficult to the Q, as I know this will be felt in the next few days… According to Moby the men of this Gipper morning may be walking with a little swagger in the days to come.. Once complete we closed with Mary consisting of 10 OYO bridges each leg, then alternating toe to heel Jane Fonda’s, half hold Fonda’s and Pulsating Fonda’s all IC 10 count… Wrapped up with 20IC Hello Dollies, Rosalitas and Hands to heels…

Appreciate all you single, double and triple respected brethren for the post and allowing me to lead!!!

    Until the next Gloom 👍🏼👊🏼✌🏼!!!

  • Upper Deck with a Deck – from Einstein

Cool – mid 50s atop the Justice Center Parking Garage.

    Warmup:
all 15xIC: Toe Touch, Side Straddle Hops, Shoulder Rolls, Imperial Walkers, Arm Circles, Neck Rolls

    Thang:
With Deck of Cards, each pax is assigned their suit: Moby-hearts, Jose10K-spades, Hammer-diamonds, Fletch-clubs
one at a time, each pax draws a card, the owner of that suit calls out an exercise of their choice and we do that amount of the card.
The pax came up with a lot of good calls; diamond merkins, seal merkins, standard merkins, burpees, crackin-burpess, man-makers, shoulder-tap merkins, hand-release merkins, squats, lunges, freak nasties, leg lifts, crunches, peter-parkers, etc.

    Count-o-rama

The Hammer led us out with a prayer

  • Kamara Ingram and Moby – from TurboTax

Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram have nothing on Moby Dick. At least that’s the way it looked from my perspective at The Gipper this morning. Allow YHC to explain.

After a quick warmup of toe touches, shoulder taps, windmills, Peter Parker’s, Imperial Walkers, Parker Peters and Seal jacks, the PAX made its way to the back of the Justice Center for the Thang.

Partner up with partner 1 executing burpees while partner 2 runs up and down the stairs to relieve partner 1. 50 burpees per team. Then we combined crossover runs first with 100 45 degree lunges and second with 200 simulated jump ropes.

We then brought the show to the front of the Justice Center for the main event. YHC laid out the cones and we sprinted, backpedaled, cut, juked and otherwise ran agility drills like any other professional team. It was impressive stuff I tell you, but Moby was particularly impressive. Like I said, Alvin and Mark are lucky the Saints scouts did not post this morning, or they might both be out of a job.

Thanks for letting me lead this morning guys. Always fun.
