  • Venti Expands – from Sea Man

The Venti is all things to all people! The Venti succeeds because it’s shorter beatdown that allows us more time to lift each other up with a coffee saunter back to the start!

    The Pre-Order – a 2.5 mile Ruck that launches at 5:15
The Venti – Traditional 2.5 mile run to Star Bucks
The Grande – Lengthened 3.5 mile run to Star Bucks (park to stables around Fly and on to Star Bucks)
The Tall – Straight shot down St Charles to Adams and to Star Bucks
The Esspresso – speed interval workout along the St Charles Neutral Ground

  • Change of Pace – from Sea Man

It’s Tusnami! Fast group ran street car line past Washington and back for 5miles at just under 9 min pace! The pacers headed around the fly for 3.2 at 10:30 pace.

  • Split Waves – from Sea Man

A warm damp morning awaited the Tsunami as we ventured down the path! The Tsunami Express broke away from Tsunami Metamucil. The Express ventured down levy, back up oak at the 8:30 – 9:30 pace for 4.5-5 miles. Team Metamucil split at the levy going around the fly and doubling back around the park at 10:20ish pace for 3.5 miles.

  • If your being criticized! – from Sea Man

A warm damp morning awaited the Venti as we ventured down the path! We greeted the oder couple on their morning walk, passed the wife and witness protection husband as they made their lap. Along the levy path we were passed by 1 semi polite cyclist, and greeted the Ochsner engineer on his way to work. At the Cooter Brown turn off, Badmoon riddled with guilt from Maria, continued to run, while the rest of us sojourned on to Star Bucks.

*Disclaimer – the comfortable pace of the Venti is a great intro for those returning for hiatus or as an introduction.

Of note, the Venti started after a colleague of my wife, committed suicide, leaving behind a wife and 2 kids. The slower pace is to allow more F2, but enough F1 to justify a coffee

  • Venti – from Sea Man

There is a new runningish work out uptown at the start of WPM / Tsunami, we call it The Venti

Pax meet for a talking pace mosey to the levy, and up Carrolton to Maple St then to Starbucks. Stop grab a coffee and saunter back to the AO for COT.

    Total mosey distance 2.6miles,

    PAX: Moana, Willy, Sphinxter

  • Running and core work – from Landing Strip

    Warmup
-Mosey to corner of St. Charles and Calhoun for 20x SSH, 20x windmills, and a 20 count standing toe touch.

    Tha Thing
-Indian ran to corner of Calhoun and Willow for 50 LBCs OYO
-Mosey to Yulman Stadium parking garage for a run backwards up the ramps and forwards on the flats
-50 LBTs OYO at the top
-Down the stairs, through campus via an Indian run down McAllister Drive to the rec center garage
-Run up the ramps and lunge walk the flats
-J-Lo ring of fire at the top
-Mosey over to WPM, up the stairs and down and back to the flag

We covered more than 5k (and some elevation) this morning. I hadn’t Q’d (or posted) at WPM for a minute, so it was good to see some familiar faces. Have a great weekend!

  • Making it “uncomfortable” – from Sandbar

YHC kicked off his last WPM as site Q exhorting the PAX to push themselves and step out of their “comfort” zones with their reps and runs.

Mosey to the Loyola Palm circle for the Warm up. SSH, 5 burpees, Low slow squats, Windmills, Grassgrabbers, 10 more burpees.

Mosey to the mountain. Pair up for the burpee ladder. One pax does 10 burpees while the other runs up one ramp and flat and does LBCs until the second PAX catches up and then runs past up one ramp and one flat and does 10 burpees. This added 30 more burpees.

At the top we did 10 more burpees at the far end of the garage, then moseyed back and did 10 more burpees. (running total 65). Then all PAX down the stairs and 5 more burpees. Back up the stairs and 15 burpees. Back down the stairs and 10 burpees. Back up and 5 burpees. That completed a century of burpees @Bolt!.

Back down the stairs and the PAX moseyed to ROTC pullup bars. YHC reminisced about spending 3 years next door at TLS, and smoking a cigarette with Antonin Scalia in the breezeway and sharing a beer with Ralph Nader just inside. 20 yrs goes by fast.

At the pullup bars the PAX split into 4 groups – pullups, merkins, dips and LBOs. Count was 10 pullups and we ran the cycle 4 times.

Mosey back to the flag and COT. YHC announced that after 3 1/2 years as site Q he was handing the mantle to @meatball. Thanks for the opportunity. Find ways to make yourself uncomfortable.
