June 8th, 1949: The timeless classic 1984 by George Orwell is published. This morning at Rock City, 9 PAX got to see The Ministry in action.

Weather: Hot and Sticky. Same as always for June.

7 PAX Mosey off into the gloom where we encounter our late arrivals – Hand Grenada and Mister Rogers. Circle up for some warm up stuff (Windmills, Imperial Walkers, etc.. But just for Bogey – no SSH).

Then grab a rock and head to the football field.

Thing 1: Press/Curl/Row x10 then run a lap.

Repeat *exactly* the same thing we did the first time. Press/Curl/Row x20 then run a lap. Frac fell into the trap to announce “but we did 10x before”, at which point the Ministry informed him that he was incorrect, and the history will clearly show that it was x20. And we are at war with East Oceania.

Repeat *exactly* the same thing again. Press/Curl/Row x25 with a lap.

Thing 2: Partner Up – Big Brother is Watching

PAX1: Hold a Squat
PAX2: 10 Merkins/15 BBSU/20 Press

PAX1 – observe fellow citizens and call out any citizen not doing his fair share for a 5 burpee team penalty.

after 2 rounds, the PAX were following Mahatma’s instructions to Stay True to each other. So the Ministry instructed the PAX to visit Room 101 – the room of what they fear most. This time, it was 10 Blockees.

Then continue. Now the PAX started to get a bit more loose lipped. The Architect sitting on his rock (require physical confirmation). Mayhem laying on the ground. PAX started to turn on each other. The Ministry was happy. But still one final visit to Room 101 for 15 Thrusters.

Wrapped up with some quick Mary then return rocks and get back to camp.

Count off and COT. I’m thankful for the chance to get back out and lead in the gloom. Been a while. And while I think the other PAX may have enjoyed the break from me, I look forward to Q’ing again more often!
