Saturday morning. I needed more cardio from the late-ish World Cup eating/drinking I’ve been doing these past weeks. So I jumped on the bike and hustled over to Misty Mountain, where I found Bullseye wondering if the Q was going to show. Well shoot, I just biked 5mi- I’ll take this one. LFG!
Warmup:
SSH, Abe Vigoda’s, Peter Parkers, Mountain Climbers, Grass Grabbers, worlds greatest stretch
Thing 1: Four Corners-Garage Mahal style
Usually, you do four corners in parking lot or field. Using the stairs of a 6 floor parking garage adds a chef’s kiss of annoyance/ exertion.
First floor- 20 merkins
Top floor- 30 plank jacks- these hurt way more than they should have
Other side of top floor-40 squats
Other side of first floor- 50 Big Boy Situps
Mosey to pull up bars
Thing 2: Modified quarter Murph
Regular Murph involves pull ups, merkins and squats. We switched up the merkins and squats for incline presses off the bike racks, and freddy merc’s.
Did 5 sets of: 5 pull ups, 10 incline presses, 15 freddy merc’s
Mosey to Loyola Benches for:
Thing 3: Dips and Step ups- Jack Webb Style.
Do a dip, then do 2 step ups, we went to 8 dips.
Mosey to Loyola circle grass for Abs, including classics like leg lifts, gas pumps, hello dolly’s, 25 American Hammers and FIRE ANTS!!
Those little guys bit my left hand pretty good. If you can’t trust the beautifully manicured lawn at Loyola University—who can you trust?
