August 25th, 1976. 50 years ago (close enough for Rock City, anyway). The release of the first album I ever bought: Boston 1
8 pax in the hot humid gloom, including 1 bringing a massive and heavy speaker that YHC was apparently going to have to carry the whole time.
Side 1: Mosey to the Field
More than a Feeling: Warm up with assorted stuff
Peace of Mind: 4 Corners – 25 yard sides for the mosey. an exercise at each corner (Merkins, Squats, Mountain Climbers, LBCs).
Foreplay/Long Time: 10 Burpees, bear crawl about 25 yards. 20 Squats, lunge walk back. Rinse and repeat. For the full 7:50
Side 2: Mosey to the Rocks
YHC said “get a big rock”. PAX generally listened, and there was much moaining.
Rock & Roll Band: Tricep, Overhead, Curl, Row. 10x each. Repeat. No putting rock down for the 3:00
Smokin’: 10 Rock Burpees, Sprint about 50 yards, mosey back. Repeat.
Hitch a Ride: Rifle Carry about 25 yards, 10 Squats, rifle carry back. Repeat.
Running out of time, so we had to skip Something about You (will make a return on Wednesday)
Let me Take You Home Tonight: some core work in cadence for the 5:00.
Horses back to barn while YHC comes in last still toting the mammoth speaker.
Today, I’m thankful for my mother-in-law having a chance to smile with her sister in the midst of life’s challenges. She needs smiles, and they’ve been in short supply for her of late.
