How are our names not on Heisman Watch yet? – from Russo

Late signup on the Q sheet led to an early morning message from Zoo. I mentioned football. His response? “I’ll bring the cones.”

In an example of “controlling the narrative”, I wanted to just play some football. Stay out of burpee land. That was the goal, mostly accomplished.

Thang
Mosey to the shaft for a two-parter:

(1) Modified H8: Three rounds of Hate (8 count body builders, bear crawl, run) starting with 11 reps, 10, then 9, with the added “accountability partner”

(2) Football – with a purple/gold 20+ year old Nerf non-regulation game ball.

6 on 6…one QB, five eligible receivers. 5 ‘Mishishp (Bird’s native language). Two hand touch. Shirts vs. Skins. Silent rush counts. Crisp, clean double move routes. Pinpoint accuracy on dimes at least 15 yards down field. Bone jarring shoves in the back that might as well have been form tackles. Blood and sweat mixing with dirt for the ultimate cocktail of masculinity and courage. Battle to the death.

Not really, only some of that happened. Remember the movie Shallow Hal where Jack Black sees something lovely that no one else sees? That was more like it. Imagine being a bystander and seeing 40+ somethings relive glory days.

That Snickers commercial where Bettie White is running a square in route? We unknowingly were filming the sequel.

Regardless, I had a blast. It was fun just getting out there and running around. Even Brexit played well, despite the obvious disadvantage of having to fight his instinct to turn it into rugby.

At the end of the day, it was the good guys winning 4 to 2.5 (uncontested final TD to avoid crying and whining and protest).

MVP? All of us for (1) not tossing the ball into the lake and (2) no major injuries.

Mosey back to the flag where it was COT, NOR, and Announcements, followed by prayer.
