Mr Rodgers Revenge – from Mr Rodgers

Backblast: Mr. Rodgers Revenge
Date: 11/3/25 | AO: Rock City | QIC: Mr. Rodgers (by surprise)
PAX: The unsuspecting few | Weather: Chilly — perfect for revenge

Woke up early, checked the Q sheet, and saw that Mahatma had signed up to lead but saw he posted a message bailing with “Mahatma’s Revenge.” Not to be confused with Montezuma’s Revenge, but expectations were still low and digestive risk was high.

Since I was already up and ready for a solid Monday beatdown, I decided to take the Q — because at least I knew I’d get a good workout in.

As I pulled into the lot, Bluetooth speaker in hand, the PAX immediately started chirping.
Apparently, the presence of a speaker automatically means Mr. Rodgers is taking over. And when the grumbles started about losing an “easy Mahatma Monday,” I knew it was time for…

👉 Mr. Rodgers Revenge.

Warm-Up

Quick jog to the end of the football field and back — just enough to realize it was colder than expected.

Then:

Knee Circles (yes, they’re a thing)

Abe Vigodas

Low Slow Squats

Hillbillys

The blood was flowing, the sarcasm was strong, and the PAX were officially awake.

The Main Event

Moseyed to the rock pile, grabbed a rock, and headed to the playground for some good old-R Rodgers Faithful yet predicable beatdown.

Partner Up!

Round 1 – Classic Grinder (3 Sets)

Pax 1: Half bleacher run

Pax 2: 5 Pull-ups, 10 Merkins, AMRAP Squats until relieved

Simple. Brutal. Effective.

Round 2 – Rock Chaos (3 Sets)

Pax 1: Half bleacher run

Pax 2: 5 Burpees, 10 Bent-Over Rows, 15 Tricep Extensions, AMRAP Curls until Pax 1 returns

Rocks were heavy, lungs were on fire, and the playground turned into a symphony of groans.

Finisher

Raced back to the rock pile, dropped the rocks and sprinted to COT with seconds to spare.

Circled up, called out prayer intentions, and specifically prayed that Mahatma wouldn’t spread his “revenge” upon the rest of us.

Moleskin:

Lesson learned: never doubt a man with a Bluetooth speaker.

Mahatma’s reputation lives on… but Mr. Rodgers’ Revenge hit harder.
