  • Upper Deck with a Deck – from Einstein

Cool – mid 50s atop the Justice Center Parking Garage.

    Warmup:
all 15xIC: Toe Touch, Side Straddle Hops, Shoulder Rolls, Imperial Walkers, Arm Circles, Neck Rolls

    Thang:
With Deck of Cards, each pax is assigned their suit: Moby-hearts, Jose10K-spades, Hammer-diamonds, Fletch-clubs
one at a time, each pax draws a card, the owner of that suit calls out an exercise of their choice and we do that amount of the card.
The pax came up with a lot of good calls; diamond merkins, seal merkins, standard merkins, burpees, crackin-burpess, man-makers, shoulder-tap merkins, hand-release merkins, squats, lunges, freak nasties, leg lifts, crunches, peter-parkers, etc.
Joker #1 – back-peddle down and up the inclined ramp
Joker #2 – one minute of Rocky Balboa

With continous motion and no laying around, everyone worked up a good sweat.

BBQ missed it all, again – his sweat-o-meter KCC hat would have registered way south of the top squatchee button.

    Count-o-rama

The Hammer led us out with a prayer

  • Musta been the Right Time but the Wrong Name – from Bolt

YHC grabbed the Q late with the expectation that the FNG I’ve been EH’ing would show after the previous night’s text invite. The gloom came and as there was no text reply, I remained hopeful any pair of headlights might b him…alas Boo Boo, Frac, and Rev joined me as Mahatma was coming in hot at the start of warmup, all sans FNG. Warmarama Rapper’s Delight edition with a call for overheads while actually performing chinooks, causing confusion among the PAX until Frac called it out.

The Thang: Variations of mosey all the way to the workout equipment, stopping at each bench for burpees. Along the way YHC also called out for “man makers” causing more confusion because it was 8-count bodybuilders which caused Rev to pause and see what the movement would actually be so at nine minutes in you can see how swimmingly it was going. Arriving at the equipment each PAX grabbed a station including the pull up bar and performed AMRAP with a target of 25 minimum over the course of one minute, switching stations and resting 15 seconds. After a full circuit we moseyed back with just a couple stops along the way to perform more man makers, mary, 6 count squat holds (squat/hold/tap toes/heels/rise) and a final stop at the workout pad near the flag for dips and more mary. COT. Grateful for each of you!

  • PAX vs the Kraken – from Paradox

    IPC Week 5

6 PAX boarded the pirate ship today to defend our turf against the mighty Kraken.
After warmup and a discussion about new exercises we dove in.
(check the F3 Greenwood site for a full IPC 5 breakdown)

Goose and Wet Tap came out the gates hard and fast slashing tentacles and setting an impressive pace. Wet Taps ability to merge his hands with a 40 lb cinderblock and make it look like a pillow is becoming a thing of legends. YHC and Enron anchored the middle crew with loads of peer pressure and using the buddy system to complete Bonnies Blair’s and Jungle Boi’s. It was clear Enron was regretting those 2 pre-Thang Burpees but he eventually got to 102 on the day if we are keeping the Cardinal Burpee Venmo fund accurate. At this point the Kraken was staggering from our blows but still hammering us with the relentless emom Kraken burpees. What the Kraken didn’t know was that we had saved our 2-man secret weapon for the final death blow. Superfun(d) and Montana got the boat to ramming speed with a tremendous push on rounds 4 and 5 to put a spear though the Kraken heart.

Great performance as a group to all finish under 45 minutes.

Wisdom was provided by Captain Goose and 40 burpees were completed during the Kraken victory feast.

COT and Enron (on 2 liters of oxygen) prayed us out.

Respect to F3 Greenwood for putting us through the ringer this month and even more respect to our new guys SuperFun(d) and Lil Cuz for starting this wild ride in September.

The IPC month has been a humbling experience, but iron has definitely been sharpened with the Thibodaux Pax.

  • Kamara Ingram and Moby – from TurboTax

Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram have nothing on Moby Dick. At least that’s the way it looked from my perspective at The Gipper this morning. Allow YHC to explain.

After a quick warmup of toe touches, shoulder taps, windmills, Peter Parker’s, Imperial Walkers, Parker Peters and Seal jacks, the PAX made its way to the back of the Justice Center for the Thang.

Partner up with partner 1 executing burpees while partner 2 runs up and down the stairs to relieve partner 1. 50 burpees per team. Then we combined crossover runs first with 100 45 degree lunges and second with 200 simulated jump ropes.

We then brought the show to the front of the Justice Center for the main event. YHC laid out the cones and we sprinted, backpedaled, cut, juked and otherwise ran agility drills like any other professional team. It was impressive stuff I tell you, but Moby was particularly impressive. Like I said, Alvin and Mark are lucky the Saints scouts did not post this morning, or they might both be out of a job.

Thanks for letting me lead this morning guys. Always fun.

  • Ladder to Oxford – from Russo

Let the official record show that Cowbell was not only on time this morning, but approximately 93.6 seconds early, and as a result, YHC exclaimed “Gosh A’mighty!!!” because he was outnumbered 2:1 by the men of Oxford this morning (e.g. Ole Miss, by damn), where low 60s greeted us for a nice ladder and slalom beatdown. One of the Rebels yelled to the other “Are you ready?” and the other responded “Hell yeah! Damn right!” and so off we went.

  • Something for Everyone – from Boo-Boo

13 men came to the Wally Sprint for varying flavors of difficulty, but all with the purpose of becoming stronger than when they arrived.

Ruckers- Logo, Charmin, Hokie, Kenner Brah, Macgyver, Boo-Boo, Klinger, and Baloo completed 2.37 miles followed by nine minutes of Mary incorporating weighted rucks.

    Tenderloin did his thing.

Sprinters- Hawg, Frac, Pai Gow, Mambi mindlessly sprinted around the track and showed up to COT dizzy.

COT, prayers, OUT! Coffeteria followed with partial attendance.

  • GNARLY NUTRIA #7 – from Reluctant Yankee

Well …I found the results from the Gnarly Nutria and I thought it would be a shame to not have the results written for posterity. Sandbar was the q BUT Abandoned ship so he could do something with the family out of town. As always that was the RIGHT decision. I arrived from a 520 mile hike across Spain on Monday 7/18. I posted for my first F3 beatdown post hike in the AM. That evening I decided not to run bc I wasn’t ready yet. I watched on the sidelines with injured Wax on, Wax off. Wax on was kind enough to pick up the beer from Brown Bag which he was kind enough to DONATE! There were at least 4 beers per runner. 2022 WAS the worst attended Gnarly – I mostly blame myself since I was out of town. Then I blame everyone else except Brown Bag because he posted and DONATED the beer. You the man Brown Bag!

    Ok results:
    #1 Beiber- upt , #2 Gump – upt, #3 Couch – upt, #4 El Guapo – Wrd, #5 Tinkles – upt
    #6 So GO – wrd, #7 Rev SOX – wrld, #8 RUDY – wrd, #9 Baldy – World, #10, Pipeline – upt,
    #11 King Kong – – upt, #12 Katy – upt, #13 harry carry – upt, #14 Frac sac – world , #15 Almonaster – upt, #16 Sub prime upt #17 moby dick world

    No runners palced 18-20

Chiquita, Brynn Johnson, (GUMPS M) #2 (Tinkles M) and Brown Bag both ran 2 laps
Ruckers were BIG WILLIE +3, Strings, Triple Shift, Satchmo, Gabby, Tube Steak PVC, BOLT, War Eagle.

Congrats to UPTOWN for another victory on your home turf.
Forgot all of the mumblechatter since I am writing this in October and the event occured in July

  • Fair Day – from Jose10k

It was a simple beatdown on my day off. We did a nice warm up that including ssh, grass grabbers, self love, arm circles, high knees, imperial walkers.
We went to the rock garden to get some coupons because you can’t ride the rides at the fair without your coupon. We did shoulder presses, curls, 45 degree chest presses, and kettlebell swings. 3 rounds of 20 reps of each. A little bit of moseying with another history lesson about downtown Covington. At the fair there are animals, so some duck walks, bear crawls, and monkey humpers. Back to the top of the parking garage for some four corners, 7 merkins at each corner, then 14 at each. Then 21 squats at each, then 28. Moby prayed us out.
