  • The Four Horsemen of the Insurrection – from Rev Sox

Only four arrived for the start of the Wally Run with YHC, Tenderloin, Vagabond, and Frac present. YHC gave a quick disclaimer announcing that this was F3 and it was time to run/ruck for the next 45 minutes. Frac, as the profound leader of F3 NOLA, announced that this Wally Run would be different from all others.

Frac took control and led the Pax of 4 in the start of a long mosey to the Capitol Hill to storm the legislator in honor of Insurrection Day. His speech was so stirring. His words so poetic. His appearance so rugged. Tenderloin, Vagabond, and YHC were transfixed and began the mosey with urgency. The Wally Run Pax would forever be known as the Four Horsemen of the Insurrection. The Four Horsemen began the long 1,124 mile trek to Capitol Hill which would only take 370 hours based on Google predictions.

Fortunately, Hawg arrived late to the Wally Run and missed Frac’s legendary speech. Armed with nothing but flip-flops and the legend of a WDSU news story, he called on the Four Horsemen to cease their foolish pursuit. Awakened from the fog of Frac’s momentous call to upheaval, the Four Horsemen retreated from their goal to arrive at the flag by 6:15am for the count-off and prayer.

I was a shy, introverted, simple, barefooted Arkansan a week ago. But after all of the media coverage, podcast shout outs, Instagram likes and Twitter retweets I have become quite accustomed to being the Center of Attention. I had everyone circle up (on me Belloq, in case you are wondering) for the warm-up and it felt so good that I stayed there the rest of the workout. It just felt natural to give the people what they want. I’m currently scheduled to be on the Roundtable Podcast this month. I’m fairly certain that this will spin-off into a weekly F3 podcast where I can wax poetic about the joy of running in flip flops, give my different product reviews for flip flops – feelgoodz vs. Locals, vs. that Reef flip flop with the built in bottle cap opener – The best place to take a leak in Pontiff Playground at 11:30 pm, etc….I have content for years.

I’m also working with Scantron to create some NFTs to commemorate my flip flop 10Ks. Look for those to be dropping any day. You will be able to get a seat at the virtual auction table by writing a $100 check to my friend Cash. Small price to pay for a chance to buy image of me running in a pair of flip flops across your computer screen all day.

There were some other things going on with the other guys at El Diablo, but honestly, I can’t remember what they were.

  • A little chill in the air – from Fracsac

It was a balmy 36 degrees at the View with a cool north breeze creating a fear factor of 26 degrees, but still nowhere near the temps the pax in Fargo ND are experiencing…..

    Disclaimer given,

    Much needed Warmup :

Typical stuff: SSH, IW, Arm circles

    The Thang

Grab a coupon, do 10 reps of something and do burpees. Move to the next location, and do it again. Rinse and Repeat. Sometimes we ran from point A to B, sometimes we carried our coupons. Two things for sure:
    1. Completed 100 burpees
    2. 45 minutes total

    End in COT

Coldest day of the year is no match for the elite of F3! Well, that really only goes for Kennah Brah and YHC…..

  • Speed Walker – from MacGyver

7 PAX showed up Saturday morning to ring in a new year the only way we know how, with a fun and relaxed get together.

We all got together at the flag and started Warmups, Abe Vigotas x10 Imperial Walkers x 12 Side Straddle Hops x22.

Then we Indian ran to the front of the Art Museum for AYOP Burpies. Time limit was set by how fast Q could finish theirs.

We then mozed over to the far side of Big lake for more AYOP Burpies, after that we finished the lake loop at the bridge and did another set of AYOP Burpies.

At this point burpies and running were old news, and we wanted to keep things interesting so naturally we ran again to the back of the museum for relaxing break of 25x donkey kicks on the wall. After that we ran back towards the Great Lawn stopping at a garden bed for Dips X 12, Bulgarian slow squats X 12, dips X 12, squatsX 20, LBC X22, and Flutter Kicks X22.

We then finished our trip over to the Great Lawn for a little bit of team work, everyone picked a misery buddy, then one man did Buripes while the other bear Crawled across the field. When the Bear Crawler finished they started Buripes and their buddy started to bear crawl across the field to reunite the pack. Once we were grouped up again we did a murkin ring of fire, followed by Crunchy Frogsx22 Dr. W’s X ( 12 I think) Scissor kicks x22 and Big Boy sit-ups X10. After that we mosied back to the flag for one last set of Buripes everyone was too tired for, then COT

The following evening Q remembered to write their First BB, in doing so they are pretty sure the missed 1-2 pax who attended and are definitely sure they missed a few exercises and messed up some of the counts, but I guess that better BB’s will come with experience.

  • Rocks or Blocks – from Kuch

YHC made the trek to Metry to Q Rock City for another LVCC member who could not make it. The reception was positive – everyone agreed YHC was a clear upgrade. Well, I think that was implied with comments like “oh, you’re the Q” and “so you’re actually going to lead a workout today?” You had to be there

We moseyed to the warm-up area for some warm-up exercises and some 8-count bodybuilders, which I guess are now a warm-up exercise for F3 Nola anyway. I think Triple Shift was a little late (workouts start promptly at 5:30 AM sir), but it might have just been that he needed some heavy machinery to move his rock.

Next, we hit the field for some sprints and exercises. Bring the rock once, leave it for the next one. We did some curls, rows, thrusters (with rocks) as well as some burpees, merks, etc… without a rock.

Next, we hit the hill for 11’s with heavy freddies (rock side) and burpees on the non-rock side. Everyone went hard and we just about finished before heading back to the rock pile. While we waited for everyone to arrive, we did some merry, including a set of 50 flutter kicks IC for a little added fun. Gotta bring the lagniappe.

Back to the flag at 6:15 for COT. I was sore the following day, which reminds me that I need to hit other AO’s more often to get more variety. Rocks are different from blocks, and I suspect they force you to employ more stabilizer muscles because they’re unwieldy. So thanks to my Metry friends for reminding me of that.
