The Rooftop Explosion / The Final Confrontation:
Hans and his crew blow the roof, neatly eliminating Johnson and Johnson because the FBI gets paid by the bad decision. McClane returns the favor by dropping Hans’ own explosives down an elevator shaft, vaporizing most of the remaining goons and turning Nakatomi Plaza into a very loud cautionary tale.
At last, McClane faces Gruber on the top floor, where Holly is being used as leverage. One quick flick of a watch clasp, Hans discovers gravity is still undefeated.
