Conditions: Tropical Storm Bertha officially making LA landfall this morning. Warm, humid, breezy… just another summer day in South Louisiana. But oh so breezy!
YHC wasn’t about to let a named storm keep the PAX at home, so a few texts were sent the night before to stir up attendance. It worked on some. Others, however, apparently saw “Mayhem Q” on the schedule and suddenly became amateur meteorologists. Excuses included: wet feet (do you belong in the LV Clown Car?), traveling (do you really think your daughter’s in-laws will actually like you?), NYC (NY-no), I can’t (no surprise – you know who you are).
WOR, then… Motivators 10 down to 1, feet hurt
B.E.R.T.H.A. time…
B – Burpees
3 Rounds
5 Burpees, Run the bleachers, 5 burpees, Bear crawl back
PAX knew this workout lived up to the texts at this point
Rinse & Repeat
E – Elevens
Mayhem Merkins/Squats
Bear crawl
Mosey back
R – Run
250-meter run
For most PAX that meant the tree and back
For HG, it meant running to the first object made of wood and declaring victory, some times he tries
T – The Gross
12 reps of 12 exercises
Some in cadence, Some OYO
Ending, appropriately, with 8-Count Body Builders because the first 132 reps weren’t enough
H – Hundred
100 LBCs OYO, Nothing fancy
A – AMRAP (3 Minutes)
10 Lunges each leg
Short sprint
Repeat until the timer saved everyone
Finished up with perfect timing… 6:15:30
COT

NMM
-Somehow, the first two named storms of the 2026 Atlantic season both formed before July 31… and both decided Louisiana looked like a nice place to pass through
-Fortunately, Bertha “shouldn’t” be nearly as destructive as “Mayhem’s Big Bertha Bonanza.”
-Thanks to the PAX who ignored the warnings of a hurricane, tropical storm, typhoon, cyclone, or cyclops and posted anyway.
