  • Around the World and Back Again – from Baywatch

    Warmup:
    1. SSH
    2. Mountain Climbers
    3. Hillbillies
    4. Grass-grabbers

    And so it began at the first workout station. 3 PAX, 3 stations, 2 rounds. Dips, rail jumps, and 12 burpees for a timer.

    Mosey to the next spot. Same deal. 3 PAX, 3 stations, 2 rounds. BBS, shoulder taps, and run a loop as the timer.

    Mosey to the bleachers along the soccer field. 2 rounds of chair dips (20 each round) and Bulgarian Squats (10 per leg).

    Back to the running trail and my personal favorite—Bataan Death Crawls. In short, this is bear crawls in Indian Run formation with burpees…the most fun you can have standing up! We did this for two full rotations and then continued our mosey to the next exercise station.

    Back to the 3 PAX, 3 stations, 2 rounds. Flutter kicks, dying cockroaches roaches, and 30 steps ups as the timer.

    Then we moseyed back to the flag. Total mosey was 1 mile.

  • Mining for Gold – from Fracsac

    The Goldmine is rich with options, so YHC committed to planting the shovel flag and explore what the AO has hidden. With my imaginary pick axe in hand, a disclaimer was given, and the mining for non crypto began. 
    YHC was joined by two other Pax, Triple Shift and BayWatch. We grabbed a jump rope and 60 lb sandbag and did a short mosey next to the outdoor equipment recently completed by JP recreation folks:

    Warmup was the usual stuff.

    First up – Stations
    Sandbag Clean to Overhead press – AMRAP
    Jump rope – AMRAP
    Burpees x 10 – timer

    Rinse and repeat

    Next up – a short mosey to Arts building for Dirty Mac Deuce
    4 rounds of 3 x 12 count exercises – one arm, one leg, one core. Lap between each round is up the Performing Arts steps and down the ramp.

    Off to bleachers for step ups and dips

    Continue the mosey to other side of park for a look at the other outdoor gym recently completed. Stations again with dips, big boi sit ups on the decline bench, and burpees as the timer.

    Mosey back to the flag for a minute of stretching and CoT.

    -Apparently the pax at the Uptowner were confused that YHC didn’t show with a promise of burpees. They’ll need a bigger carrot than that.
    -Bolt was so amazed by the presence of Hawg’s wood that he had to show his own to Rudy, which he supposedly asked Mambi to carry. At Coffeteria we were told that Hawg was so distraught by Bolts wood that he ran away before the beat down was complete.
    -Rudy seems to have trouble counting, especially when it comes to Burpees. The whole concept of the EMOM is probably beyond his comprehension, or maybe he was just preoccupied with trying to choose between which Pax wood he wants more. Don’t worry, YHC won’t judge.

  • He really said that….. – from Fracsac

    The Star is now The Goldmine, and the new location at Lasalle Park elevates Friday options to another level.
    With the new launch, YHC took the Q to set the new AO on a path to success. With the Shovel flag planted, a disclaimer was given, then a short mosey to a nice grassy area.

    Warmup consisted of the usual stuff, skipping the unnecessary stuff.

    The thang:

    Route 66 at the light poles with burpees

    Dirty Mac Deuce along the way around the park.

    YHC asked RevSox at one point how many burpees we were to do today. He answered 66. That was wrong so we incurred a penalty of 10 burpees with 14 more along the way to our next stop.

    Complete 2 burpees, skip 30 yards, run back. Rinse and Repeat x 5.

    Mosey back to flag for plank and J-Lo’s.

    – Found some new options for beat downs.
    – RevSox pulled up at 5:29 and said he was supposed to be at the Uptowner to Q. We then heard him mutter something under his breath, something that I can’t put in black and white. I think I’ll bring soap next Friday.
    – 100 burpees down. We could have done more.
    – YHC is aware of what everyone is thinking: what about Q vs Q? YHC will speak with Mambi and the details will be provided to give you that monthly Fix.
