8 Craaazy Years! – from Bushwacker

There was a time that I would put on some high tempo motivating music and hit the weights all by my lonesome. I loved pushing myself, but there was something missing. A guy I was training with told me about a group of guys that worked out on Saturdays at the Lakefront doing push ups and squats and stuff. Interesting! Yeah, they start at 6:30am…Forget that! But after a month of nudging I finally gave it a shot (and my buddy didn’t show). “Captain Sparkles” “Butt Splice” “The Manny” “Moby Dick”…What had I gotten myself into?! The most inspirational, motivating, best group of friends a guy could hope for, that’s what. And today I gathered with my brothers to whoop our collective asses in recognition of 8 years of one of the few truly fulfilling journeys of my adulthood.

WARMORAMA

Trying to stick to a theme of 8, with 8 exercises, 7 of which were ICx8 and the last being 8 8 Count Body Builders OYO, got off to a BBQ-esque start (as the man himself suddenly rode into the middle of out circle on his bike, the Crop Duster). But we got through SSHs, Imperial Walkers, Hi Knees, Torso Twists, Arm Circles, Windmills, and Self Love.

THANG

Mosied to Noah’s Ark for:
OYO 8 rounds of 8 reps of 8 Count Body Builders followed by a lap, for a total of 64 8 CBBs and 8 laps.

Mosied to Lamarque St and circled up for:
x8 IC Absolution – After making sure we had it right, we got down to business and then tried out something new.
x8 IC Side Straddle Squat – 1, 2 SSH 3, 4 SSH, 5, 6 Squat 7, 8 squat.

Mosied north on Lamarque St originally intending to get to The Marsh and repeat the 8 roundsd of 8 Counts and laps, but clearly Tempus Fugit and an abbreviation was in order. So we made it to Claiborne before one more round of Absolution before forming 2 lines for “Indigionous People” Run back to the flag.

MARY

And now ladies and gents, for the Northshore’s longest Mary(nearly 20 minutes)…

2 rounds followed, consisting of x8 IC Freddy Mercurys, Flutter Kicks, American Hammers, Crunchy Frogs, Leg Raises, 100s, LMCs/LBCs, and x8 Count Body Builders OYO, and finally 2 minutes of Plank.

COT

Name/Count – With the classic facial expression and a little dance to seal the deal, we welcomed Blue Steel!

The Never Forget 9/11 5k is 9/13, F3 Northshore Fall Kokomo Camp Out tentatively scheduled for 10/25, SOGO is need of prayers

Thank you gentlemen for allowing me to lead you on this day and for so enriching the last 8 years of my life. I’ll still be here for Triple Respect like Moby!
