Wall-to-Wall Mayhem – from Mayhem

The weather apps were screaming. The radar was colorful. Tropical Storm Arthur was organizing itself. Post? Common sense?

As YHC laid his head down Tuesday night knowing the Q was mine, one question lingered: Do I even set the alarm? No debate. Alarm set.

At 5:28 AM, Mr. Rogers rolled into the gloom on his bike looking entirely too comfortable for a man voluntarily exercising in a tropical weather advisory. At least I wouldn’t be suffering alone.

By 5:30, Vagabond, Caboose, and Thighs emerged from the darkness. Four HIMs and one questionable workout plan. Time to get after it. Wanting to show a tiny bit of kindness, YHC stayed off the track and off the grass. That was the last nice thing I did.

Mosey around the outside of the track to the Golden Age Center. Special thanks to Vagabond for apparently having enough influence to get the lights turned on just for us. You know… because he was the eldest of the group today.

Thang #2 – Dora with Bear Crawl
100 Merkins, 200 Squats, 300 LBCs
Partner A worked.
Partner B bear crawled up the ramp, bear crawled back down, then moseyed back to relieve his partner. Simple.
Except Thighs apparently needed a translator (east bank to west bank).
Somewhere during the explanation, “bear crawl the ramp” became “run around the entire gym.” By the time we figured out what happened, he was halfway through a sightseeing tour of Pontiff. Fortunately, Thighs is an absolute machine and caught the group before anyone could accuse him of sandbagging.

Thang #3 – Wall Down the Stairs

Then the highly requested: Balls-to-the-Wall Presses (Mr. Rogers requested them.)
Then Deep Sea Diver: 7th step down to the 1st step.

The weather forecast scared away plenty of people. Not these HIMs.
Big respect to Thighs for crossing the river in the rain without hesitation. Never wavered.
Great seeing Caboose at Pontiff.
Pool Boy happened to Q Kennairie Ridge on the same day. Given our history, there is at least a 73% chance we accidentally planned the same workout.

As for Arthur, he never really showed up… yet. These PAX did. And that’s the point.
