Conditions: a bit warm and muggy
Eleven PAX headed to the Peristyle for the WOR, including the triumphant returns of Vagabond and Fracsac from their respective worldly journeys.
WOR
Windmills
Grass Grabbers
Hillbillies
The Frac
Tie Fighters
Eleven men then headed to the Great Lawn.
Upon arrival, there were suddenly 12.
Apparently Hawgcycle had completed the warmup at his house, determined there was no reason to participate in ours.
Modified Motivators
Starting at 7:
7 Deconstructed SSH
7 Burpees
6 Deconstructed SSH
6 Burpees
Continue down to 1 and 1.
Twenty-eight burpees later, we moved on.
BOMBS — The Hard Way
OYO and stacked.
5 Burpees
Run 30 yards
5 Burpees + 10 Overhead Claps
Run
5 Burpees + 10 Overhead Claps + 15 Merkins
Run
5 + 10 + 15 + 20 BBSU
Run
5 + 10 + 15 + 20 + 25 Squats
At this point, anyone hoping the workout might settle down was beginning to understand the problem. The problem was Mayhem.
BLIMPS
A mere 100 yards away.
Teams of three. Everyone completes every exercise.
One PAX planks.
One PAX runs.
One PAX does AMRAP.
Rotate until everyone has completed:
Burpees
Lunges
Imperial Walkers
Merkins
Plank Jacks
Squats
The PAX now fully understood where Mayhem was coming from.
Unfortunately, there was still plenty of time left.
On to Storyland. Partner up.
Dips and step-ups while the other PAX performed modified Rocky Balboas.
Switch. Flip. Rotate. Do stuff.
Technical programming at its finest.
B.E.A.S.T.
Next station was conveniently located a mere 75 yards away.
BOMBS were done.
BLIMPS were done.
Obviously, that meant BEAST was next.
As a group, some IC and some OYO:
Bonnie Blairs
Eight-Count Body Builders — yes, Heisenberg, apparently “8” begins with an E today
American Hammers
SSH
Tempo Merkins
Mayhem Merkin Mountain
Only another 60 yards to the final station.
All IC:
10 Hip Slaps
10 Hip Slaps + 10 Shoulder Taps
10 Hip Slaps + 10 Shoulder Taps + 10 Merkins
Hawgcycle 20-count.
10 Mayhem Merkins IC.
Mary — 8/29
8 BBSU
29 Freddie Mercuries
“Why?” I asked Heisenberg.
Because August 29th marks the anniversaries of Katrina and Ida.
Then:
8 V-Ups
29 LBCs
At that point, YHC passed the torch.
Vagabond, Revit, Solo and Frac all played along and took turns adding to the misery.
Finally, back to the flag.
We were spent.
It had been non-stop for an hour.
We started with 11.
Then somehow became 12.
And by the end, apparently we had 13, as the sausage casing had been hiding behind a tree playing with his tricycle.
COT
Thankful.
Grateful.
Blessed.
And most importantly, freed to lead.
F3 gives us that opportunity every morning. You don’t have to have the perfect workout. You don’t have to be the fastest, strongest or loudest guy out there.
Just step up.
It’s fun.
