YHC tried recruiting okwata attendees, but was met with negatives (Pinewood, Mayhem and Frac with their “excuses”), concern about wet shoes (rhymes with “Fool”) and general silence (where were you High Rise, Dax?). YHC was worried that he was going to be alone. Just him and his bricks.
But fortunately – late the night before, Smooth came through and said he’d be there! And in fact, he did arrive, at about 5:29:45. So the 2 of us got started.
“Circle Up”: that sounds weird, but so does “Look at each other”. So after a brief (if uncomfortable) pause, we found our spot for a warmup.
Thang 1: Round-and-round we go, at the Fountain. PAX 1 does exercise, PAX 2 does a lap. Always with bricks. Push-up Bra, Dying Cockroach, Calf Raise, Floyd Mayweather. Repeat a 2nd round.
Thang 2: Over to the levee for 11s (and yes, it was definitely damp. And the grass has not been cut in a while, which made the run just a wee bit harder). Start with 10 brickpees at the bottom, 1 BBSU at top.
Time for a few more calf raises (yet another good use for bricks in a workout). Then back to the flag.
Thanks, Smooth, for keeping me from a Lone Wolf workout!
